Chapters for Live Stream Recordings
Chapters split your Live Stream recording into clear, clickable sections, so students can jump straight to the moments they care about (e.g., “Application process”, “Role insights”, “Student Q&A”) without having to scrub through the whole recording.
Chapters are auto-generated by AI right after your Live Stream, and you can review and adjust them anytime in the CareerFairy Admin Dashboard.
What’s new in the Recording Experience
In the Admin Dashboard, you can now:
- See all your Live Stream recordings in one place
- View AI-generated Chapters in each recording
- Edit, delete, or create new Chapters
- See chat + questions recap, with context of what was happening during the Live Stream (all timestamped)
Why Chapters matter
Chapters help your recording keep performing after the Live Stream ends:
- Students can find relevant answers faster → more recording views
- You can highlight the strongest moments → better employer branding
- You can reuse specific segments in outreach → more reach from the same Live Stream
How Chapters work
1) Chapters are created by AI
After your Live Stream ends, CareerFairy automatically generates Chapters based on the content of the recording. You’ll see them appear under Live Streams on the Content page in your Admin Dashboard.
2) Chapters, Questions & Chat all sit under individual Live Streams
Open inidividual Live Streams to check out the Chapters, chat & questions

3) Edit a Chapter
For chapters on Live Stream recordings, you can:
- Rename a Chapter title
- Adjust the start time
- Delete a Chapter
- Add a new Chapter manually
Here's how you can edit a chapter on the admin portal:
- Open the recording
- In the Chapters list, click Edit
- Update the title
- Click Save

Best-practice Chapter titles (what students actually click)
Try to name Chapters by student intent, not internal topics.
Good examples:
- “What they look for in candidates”
- “Application process (step-by-step)”
- “Interview tips”
- “Role & day-to-day”
- “Tech stack / tools (if relevant)”
- “Student Q&A: top questions”
- “Working culture & team”
Less helpful:
- “Intro”
- “Topic 1”
- “Q&A” (too generic—make it specific)
Chat & questions recap
On the recording page, you’ll also see a recap of:
- the chat
- the questions asked
- the context of what was being discussed at that moment
This is useful for:
- spotting FAQs you should answer in follow-ups
- improving future Live Streams
- aligning internally on what candidates care about
Troubleshooting
“I don’t see Chapters yet”
- Chapters appear after processing. If they still don’t show up later, contact us and share:
- the Live Stream name
- the date
- the recording link (or Admin page link)
“A Chapter title is inaccurate”
- No problem—just rename it in the Admin Dashboard (recommended).
- If the structure is off, delete the Chapter and add a better one manually.
“The Chapter timing feels slightly wrong”
- If your UI supports timestamp edits, adjust the start time.
- If not, delete + recreate the Chapter at the right moment.
