Screen Sharing Issues
In this article, we will look at some of the most common screen sharing problems.
Screen share access depends on two main points:
Your browser settings
Your operating system settings
Please make sure to grant access in each scenario to avoid any mistakes. Below, we've grouped a few of the typical access problems:
Using Chrome
Using Edge
Using Safari
Using Firefox
If the screen sharing is blocked in Chrome, check you have provided the right permissions.
Click the settings icon in the URL bar
Click on "Site settings" and ensure the following permissions are granted:
- Camera
- Microphone
- Window management
- Scroll and zooming
We recommend to use Chrome for your live stream. So, please try to access your live stream with Chrome and if the sharing issue persist check the Using Safari section for guidance. If you nevertheless decide to use Edge here the steps to follow to trouble shoot your screen sharing issues.
If screen sharing is blocked in Safari, please follow the steps below to enable it:
Click Safari > Settings for this website:
Check that the Screen Sharing field is not set on Deny. Set it on Ask or Allow:
Refresh your browser. The next time you try to screen share, Safari will display a window to asking you to allow screen sharing. Please allow these permissions so that you can share your screen.
Please note that it's not possible to share a window or a tab with Safari.
If screen sharing is blocked in Firefox, please follow the steps below to enable it:
Click on the Permissions icon next to your URL bar. Make sure that the permissions for screen sharing are not blocked.
Once you allow permissions, please refresh your browser. You should be able to share your screen afterwards.
